Pres. Boakai Engages Liberians in Europe on Governance and National Development

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening engagement with Liberians in the diaspora, emphasizing their critical role in rebuilding the nation.

According to the Executive Mansion, the Liberian leader held a presidential dialogue on Friday with Liberians residing in France and across Europe. The forum, described as an open and interactive exchange, allowed diaspora Liberians to engage directly with the President on national priorities such as governance, economic growth, education, youth empowerment, and diaspora participation.

President Boakai underscored that Liberians everywhere—whether at home or abroad—remain “vital partners in the country’s rebuilding efforts.” He further outlined ongoing government initiatives designed to foster inclusive development, including reforms aimed at improving the business climate, implementing dual citizenship, and mobilizing the technical expertise of Liberians living overseas.

Participants in the dialogue expressed appreciation for the President’s outreach, sharing perspectives on how government can better facilitate diaspora investment and protect citizenship rights. Several contributors called for stronger mechanisms to ensure that Liberians abroad are integrated into national development frameworks.

The engagement ended with a renewed call for unity, patriotism, and collective action in advancing Liberia’s shared vision of peace, prosperity, and inclusion. Analysts view this initiative as part of the Boakai administration’s broader strategy to rebuild public trust, attract foreign partnerships, and leverage the talents of Liberians worldwide in achieving the country’s long-term development goals.
