Chairman Hon. Nyahn Mantein spoke on behalf of the Board, thanking Managing Director Ernest Hughes and his staff for their insight and dedication to solve the transportation issue. The Board congratulated management for successfully procuring an NTA bus to service employees.
Prince Crawford of the Human Resources Department also thanked management, stating that the effort has greatly decreased the financial strain on employees. He said that he used to spend L$1,000 every day on transit from Monday to Friday, which is now much reduced.
Princess T. David of the Cargo Department commended the leadership for procuring a new NTA bus, emphasising that it allows staff to come at work on time and with less stress. She regarded the action as commendable and praised Hon. Hughes and his staff for a job well done.
Similarly, Theresa Menyon of the Motorpool Department voiced her pleasure, adding that she has not seen a new bus introduced under any LAA government in 14 years. She also mentioned that she commutes from Jacob Town on a regular basis, which makes the intervention much more relevant.
In closing, Ernest G. Sharpe, Head of Public Relations, commended Managing Director Ernest Hughes and his management team for prioritising employee well-being. He recalled that the original bus was utilised to transport personnel to and from town, and he added that employees took responsibility for managing it, ensuring that the new vehicle will be adequately maintained.
This effort exemplifies Hon. Ernest Hughes’ people-centered leadership and the LAA management team’s commitment to increasing employee well-being and operational efficiency.
