A Liberian Politician Bags Degree

-Calls On Gov’t To Prioritize Citizens Wellbeing

A Liberian politician is expected to walk out of the Strayer University in the United States of America with a second master’s degree in project management with emphasis in Industrial Management.

According to a release issued by the Friends of Lans C. Wright, Mr. Lans C. Wright who attained a BSc degree in International Business and an MBA in Public Administration and Public Policy in 2015 will graduate on June 28, 2025 from the Strayer University in the United States of America with his second Master’s Degree in Project Management with emphasis in Industrial Management; and expected to further his education in the area of law.

Lans who contested the District #17, Montserrado County seat in the 2023 general and presidential elections and lost to the current Representative Bernard Benson has since remained working with the various communities and or townships in the district through the Friends of Lans C. Wright until the formation of the Lans Humanitarian Foundation in 2025.

The Lans Humanitarian Foundation was formed to further strengthen and enhance the dreams, aspirations and visions of Mr. Lans C. Wright for the good of the Liberian people, particularly the people of District #17 in Montserrado County.

At the same time, Mr. Wright is calling on the Government of Liberia to prioritize the Liberian people wellbeing above self-gains. Speaking to the press via telephone from the United States of America where he is expected to participate in the Strayer University’s graduation and bags another degree, the humanitarian-Liberian as he is called by the people of District # 17 in Montserrado County praised the President of Liberia Amb. Joseph Nyuma Boakai and pointed out that he is somehow focused on development, but was quick to indicate that the president and his team must keep focused and need to do more.

He lauded Pres. Boakai for the level development taking place so far, but urges him to pave the road leading from Iron Gate in Virginia through Central Virginia onto Clay Ashland, Millsburgh, Arthington and through Brewerville, Montserrado County.

He mentioned that the government must as well ensure the availability of more public schools across the country for the benefit of the future of the country. He noted that education is the only pathway to genuine development in any nation for which the Government of Liberia must take keen interest.

Mr. Wright at the same time intimated that the absence of electricity in various townships in District #17, Montserrado County including Artington, Millsburgh, Clay Ashland, Virginia and Brewerville City among others need to have access to basic social services. He particularly named electricity and pipe borne water and pointed out that these communities are just a stone throw from the water plant and the hydro in White Plains and Harrisburg. “How can the points that provide these services border our communities/townships and we still do not benefit from the services,” he averred.

He intoned that if communities in the district are connected via paved roads, electricity, pipe borne water, solid educational system with qualified teachers, and other essential services, the people will have easy access to their farms; something he said will help to better the economy.

Mr. Wright avowed that the government must do all it can to smoothen the economy for the good of the Liberian people. He indicated that it will always be prudent to pat the government on its back when it does well and hit it hard when it is swaying or straying away from its platform.

The Liberian politician at the same time condemned actions by those who allegedly burned the capitol building; something he said was demonic and devilish and further indicated that he was glad to know that the government is now pursing the matter through the court. He stressed that the Government of Liberia must do all in its power and ensures that the perpetrators face the full weight of the law to serve as a deterrent and not on the basis of witch-hunt as being insinuated in some quarters across the country.

Meanwhile, Mr. Wright is calling on President Boakai and the Unity Party led government to see reason by separating District #17 in Montserrado County, specifically in line with the Liberia Institute for Statistics and Geo Information Services (LISGIS) so that townships that are disadvantaged as the result of the oversized will benefit from the developmental drive when separated in line with laws of the state.

He furthered; “According to LISGIS last census, this district has since surpassed the threshold of the criteria set for district in the country for which District #17 must take advantage of; as such, the Government of Liberia must act accordingly so that our people can benefit.” He stressed.

Hence, the Lans Humanitarian Foundation that is solely sponsored by Mr. Lans C. Wright has embarked on the distribution of nonfood and food items including rice, oil, cube, sugar, milk, soap and clothing amongst others which are being distributed to various  communities/townships including Brewervill, Virginia, Clay Ashland, Millsburg, Arthington amongst other areas across District #17 in Montserrado County after every three months.

Speaking to folks of the various communities and townships, they praised Mr. Wright for his commitment to keep supporting the various communities despite of him losing the election. They stressed that if all Liberian politicians were like Mr. Wright, the country would be gone far by now even as they lose. They commended Mr. Wright for his steadfastness and commitment to keep supporting his people no matter what.
