The South-Eastern Alliance of Liberia (SEAL) extends its commendation to His Excellency President Joseph N. Boakai for the official launch of the National Reconciliation Agenda—a crucial and timely initiative aimed at unifying the country after years of civil unrest, which tragically claimed the lives of over 250,000 Liberians and led to the destruction of countless properties.
SEAL wholeheartedly welcomes this initiative, believing that it will foster National unity and promote the total integration of all Liberians, regardless of political, regional, or ethnic affiliation. This bold step by the President is commendable and in line with the nation’s collective desire for sustainable peace and progress.
SEAL also expresses its sincere appreciation to President Boakai for the ongoing connectivity efforts through the development of road infrastructure in the southeastern region of Liberia. Citizens in that part of the country are finally experiencing relief after years of neglect and abandonment by past administrations. This progress was even acknowledged by Grand Gedeh County Senator Emmanuel Zoe Pennue, a strong supporter of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), who, in a recent interview, praised the Unity Party-led government for its developmental efforts—an act of patriotism that SEAL commends.
Furthermore, SEAL takes this opportunity to strongly condemn the incitement and planned violent protest being orchestrated by Mr. Mulbah Morlu and his associates. Their rhetoric, marked by self-interest and inconsistency, does not represent the will of the Liberian people. SEAL urges the public to boycott these unproductive and belly-driven actions, which are aimed at personal financial gain rather than national interest.
We must remind the public that these same individuals remained silent when the previous administration reduced civil servants salaries. Did Mr. Morlu or his allies ever protest for salary increments for ordinary workers? Their current actions lack credibility and moral authority. They are not the right messengers to speak for the people.
SEAL also condemns oppositions political figures who have refused to support the President’s call for national unity. At this critical moment, Liberia needs all hands on deck.
Lastly, SEAL congratulates President Joseph N. Boakai on the recent invitation extended by the United States Government, selecting Liberia as one of only five African nations to engage in a special diplomatic program. This recognition is a victory for all Liberians and a testament to the progress being made under this administration.
