STAND Demands Independent Investigation into Death of Wife of Liberian Economist Samuel P. Jackson

Civil society organization Solidarity and Trust for a New Day (STAND) has called for a comprehensive and independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the wife of Liberian economist Samuel P. Jackson.

In a statement issued amid growing public concern, the organization said it was deeply troubled by emerging reports suggesting that the death may have involved possible violence. STAND described the situation as alarming and emphasized the need for a careful and transparent inquiry to determine the facts.

The group also extended condolences to Jackson and the bereaved family, stressing that the dignity and privacy of the deceased must be respected during this difficult time.

According to STAND, the gravity of the allegations requires a credible and independent probe conducted with the highest level of professionalism and strict adherence to the rule of law. The organization also noted that the deceased was a South African national, a factor that further underscores the importance of a transparent and internationally credible investigative process.

At the same time, STAND urged Liberians to remain calm and responsible as authorities work to establish the truth. The group warned against speculation, misinformation, and the politicization of the matter, noting that such actions could undermine the integrity of the investigation.
