Fiamah, Monrovia – A Sunday worship service at Winners’ Chapel International’s Fiamah branch descended into chaos as a bitter leadership dispute erupted, forcing police intervention and exposing allegations of improper dismissals and financial opacity that threaten the church’s credibility.
Tensions boiled over during normal morning service when protesting members—many former church administrators—blocked proceedings, claiming they were unceremoniously removed from their positions by a newly assigned pastor, reportedly a Sierra Leonean national. The group alleges their ousting lacked due process and followed no established church protocol, turning a sacred space into a battleground over authority.
Beyond the leadership shakeup, protesters leveled explosive accusations of financial mismanagement, demanding full transparency on church revenue and expenditures. They insist the current leadership must produce detailed financial reports to dispel suspicions of fund mishandling, raising questions about accountability in an institution built on trust and tithes.
Police officers were swiftly deployed to the church premises to prevent escalation, maintain order, and protect worshippers and nearby residents from potential violence. The heavy security presence underscored the gravity of the standoff, transforming what should have been a place of spiritual refuge into a fortified dispute zone.
As of this report, the pastor at the center of the controversy has remained silent, offering no public response to the mounting allegations or demands for reinstatement and financial disclosure. With officers still stationed around the compound, the situation remains volatile, leaving congregants divided and the church’s reputation hanging in the balance.
