Kakata, Margibi County — Margibi County District #3 Representative, Hon. Ellen A. Attoh-Wreh, has reinforced her reputation as a community-focused leader through a series of impactful donations and empowerment initiatives across her district. The engagements targeted women, educational institutions, and law enforcement, aiming to improve livelihoods and strengthen public services.
During the outreach, Rep. Attoh-Wreh empowered over 100 women from Mandingo Quarter and surrounding communities in Kakata with livelihood support packages to help them start or expand small businesses. The packages included essential items such as caustic soda bags, agro oil, 25kg bags of rice, sugar, flour, slippers, start-up cash, and other necessities. The value of the distributed materials and cash was slightly over US$4,000.
Speaking at the event, Rep. Attoh-Wreh said the initiative is designed to foster self-reliance among women, particularly in households where men are financially unstable. “Our goal is to empower women to contribute meaningfully to their families and communities,” she stated.
In addition to supporting women, the lawmaker donated 75 armchairs to Rev. W.K. Moore Public School in the 26th Gate Community. The contribution is expected to improve classroom seating and create a more conducive learning environment for students.
Rep. Attoh-Wreh also extended support to the Liberia National Police (LNP), Kakata Detachment, by donating 50 branded T-shirts and face caps. She commended the officers for their dedication in protecting lives and property in Kakata and across Margibi County. Acting Margibi County Police Commander, Jaivey, thanked the lawmaker and assured that the items would be fairly distributed among officers.
The lawmaker’s efforts were formally recognized by the Kakata City Corporation, which awarded her a Certificate of Honor for her continued support to the city police. Kakata City Mayor, Rev. Eddy G. Seyboe, described Rep. Attoh-Wreh as the “highest contributor to the city police” since his tenure began and encouraged her to continue her people-centered initiatives.
Beneficiaries of the donations expressed deep appreciation for Rep. Attoh-Wreh’s generosity and pledged to use the items for their intended purposes. Many lauded her ongoing commitment to community development and called on her to sustain her efforts across District #3.
