Cestos City, Rivercess County – October 13, 2025 — The 23rd graduation ceremony of Cestos High School turned into a day of celebration, inspiration, and generosity as Senator Bill T. Twehway graced the occasion as keynote speaker, delivering a powerful message of hope, hard work, and purpose.
Addressing a jubilant crowd of students, parents, and local officials, Senator Twehway urged the graduates to dream big and face life’s obstacles with determination and faith. He emphasized that the path to success lies in discipline and perseverance, reminding the young graduates that every challenge presents an opportunity for growth.
“Life will test your resolve,” he told them, “but what defines you is your ability to find solutions and keep moving forward.”
Beyond his words, Senator Twehway demonstrated his deep commitment to education and youth empowerment through several generous gestures. He awarded the Dux of the class a full scholarship to any accredited university in Liberia — except Cuttington University — covering all tuition and fees. Additionally, he pledged to pay entrance fees for 25 graduates who successfully pass the WASSCE, as verified by the Ministry of Education. Each of those 25 graduates also received a smartwatch, which the senator described as a symbol of time, discipline, and progress.
Senator Twehway, himself a former classroom teacher, did not forget the educators who helped shape the graduates’ journey. In appreciation of their commitment, he presented the teaching staff with a cash donation of L$100,000, expressing gratitude for their selfless service. “Once a teacher, always a teacher,” he said. “I will continue to stand with educators and support them in every way possible.”
The event concluded with thunderous applause and emotional tributes from students, parents, and community leaders, who hailed Senator Twehway for his humility, generosity, and enduring dedication to the future of Liberia’s youth.
