DSTV Liberia Denies Rumors of Subscription Fee Increase

Monrovia, Liberia – August 7, 2025 — The Consolidated Group Inc., the exclusive provider of DSTV in Liberia, has dismissed recent rumors about a rise in subscription fees.

During a press briefing on Monday, DSTV Liberia’s Customer Service Manager, Madam Hawa Farkollie, assured customers that the prices for all DSTV packages remain the same.

“There has been no increase in our monthly subscription fees,” said Madam Farkollie. “Our packages are still priced at Access for US$8, Family for US$13, Compact for US$23, Compact Plus for US$36, and Premium for US$61. These rates have not changed.”

She explained that the confusion came from the end of a hardware promotion, which had allowed new customers to get installations for US$15. This promotion was part of DSTV’s effort to make digital entertainment more accessible in Liberia.

“Now that the promotion has ended, the installation fee has returned to the standard US$70, which includes one month’s subscription,” she clarified. “This fee covers equipment like the dish, decoder, LNB, and cabling—not the monthly subscription.”

Farkollie stressed the difference between hardware installation costs and monthly subscription fees, explaining that they are separate charges. She said the return to the standard installation price reflects operational costs and increased import tariffs.

To clear up any misinformation online, DSTV Liberia encourages customers to get updates only from official sources, such as their head office in Fiamah, Monrovia, or certified customer service lines.

“We are committed to transparency and affordability,” she said. “We encourage customers to reach out to us directly to avoid false information.”

DSTV Liberia continues to offer a wide range of international and local content in entertainment, sports, news, and lifestyle, and remains dedicated to providing great value without raising subscription costs.
