The Global Methodist Church of Liberia (GMC) has taken aback over what it termed false and misleading allegations by the leadership of the United Methodist Church, with a specific allegation that some members of the GMC vandalized the Ganta Hospital.
It can be recalled that members of the GMC allegedly attacked some members of the UMC on the facilities of the Ganta Mission Station. The leadership of the United Methodist Church raised several alleged verbal attacks on the Global Methodist Church without attempting to prove their claims.
In a release issued on Thursday, the GMC stated that Bishop Quire dared to misinform the public through the electronic media that members of the GMC vandalized the Ganta Hospital. It questioned why the GMC could be naive to destroy property belonging to the former Gompa District Conference of the UMC that has joined the GMC in the name of celebration?
Shockingly, the Global United Methodist Church alleged that following Bishop Quire’s false allegation, there have been no reports from the hospital to confirm his allegations, nor has there been any police arrest.
It added that that despite the UMC and members of the former Gompa District Conference of the UMC went through the legal process through the court of competent jurisdiction to determine who owns the Ganta Hospital, the school, and the entire mission station located in the City of Ganta, Nimba County, Liberia, the court made the determination dismissing the claims of the United Methodist Church to any property and declaring the former Gompa District of the UMC in Nimba, now a part of the newly established denomination, the Global Methodist Church owners of all the property.
The Global UMC said the court decision necessitating the celebration continues even as it convenes in the city of Ganta, Nimba County, from 7-13 July 2025 for the official convening conference of the Global Methodist Church.
It encourages the leadership of the UMC to continue the legal redress initiated to find a remedy to their concerns, but should not seek unnecessary sympathy from the public at the expense of the Global Methodist Church of Liberia.
The GMC also encouraged individuals claiming property to take the matter to the law instead of engaging in any disorderly actions, and calls on all our members of the Mount Nimba District of the Global Methodist Church of Liberia to avoid any confrontation with members of the United Methodist Church.
The release stated that the Global Methodist Church exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ and spread scriptural holiness across Liberia, Africa, and the world at Large with a vision of multiplying disciples of Jesus Christ throughout the earth who flourish in scriptural holiness, love extravagantly, and witness boldly.
