Fellow Liberians,
On the occasion of Liberiaโs 178th Independence Day, we, the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and Honorable Members of the House of Representatives of the 55th Legislature, extend heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all citizens, both at home and abroad.
This day is not just a celebration of our sovereignty, but a solemn reminder of the courage, vision, and resilience of our founding fathers who laid the cornerstone of Africaโs first independent republic on July 26, 1847.
As we commemorate this historic milestone, let us reflect on the values that bind us as a people: unity, peace, justice, and patriotism. These pillars must guide our path as we strive to build a Liberia that is stronger, more inclusive, and prosperous for all.
Today, our nation stands at a pivotal point in its journey โ one that demands collective responsibility from leaders and citizens alike.
We reaffirm our commitment as lawmakers to legislate in the best interest of the Liberian people, to ensure transparency and accountability in governance, and to champion the cause of social justice, youth empowerment, womenโs inclusion, economic opportunity, and national reconciliation.
As we hoist our national flag and sing the Lone Star forever, may we also renew our vow to uphold the ideals of our republic and leave a legacy of hope, dignity, and progress for generations to come.
We salute the enduring spirit of the Liberian people and join you in celebrating 178 years of independence, sovereignty, and the unwavering pursuit of freedom.
Happy Independence Day, Liberia!
May God bless our Republic and keep us united in purpose and in peace.
