Gola Konneh District, Grand Cape Mount County — August 2025 — Residents of Kinjor in Gola Konneh District are about to see a big improvement in healthcare as Senator Dabah M. Varpilah has launched a $46,000 renovation project for the Kinjor Health Facility.
The project aims to upgrade the facility to meet basic healthcare standards. It includes building a chain-link fence for security, installing a water tower to improve access to clean water, plumbing work, painting, and other important repairs.
The work has been given to Laa-ma and Gopoe Incorporated, with Mr. Roland David leading the project for the company. Senator Varpilah said this project is part of her ongoing effort to improve healthcare in rural and underserved areas of Grand Cape Mount County.
“This project is about making sure our people, especially those in remote places like Kinjor, can get quality healthcare in a safe and comfortable setting,” Senator Varpilah said at the launch.
Work on the facility will start soon, with local workers playing a big role in the renovation. Officials say this will help the community take ownership of the project and provide some short-term jobs.
Community leaders have praised the project, calling it a timely help that will tackle urgent healthcare problems in the district. They say the renovation will bring much-needed relief to patients and health workers who have faced limited resources and poor facilities.
When finished, the improved Kinjor Health Facility is expected to offer better services, especially in maternal and child health, emergency care, and treatment of common illnesses.
