Veteran journalist Sekou Sheriff has raised concerns after armed police officers tried to enter his home late at night without explanation.

Sheriff, CEO of Voice of Liberia (VOL), said he was sitting in his yard when he heard a loud bang on his gate, followed by officers shouting for entry. He told his security not to let them in because of the late hour and the unclear reason for their visit.

“I called Inspector General Gregory Coleman, but he didn’t answer. Then I contacted Oldman Sam Saryon, who reached out to LNP 102 Nelson Freeman. Freeman called me back and worked to sort things out. Eventually, the officers left,” Sheriff explained.

He emphasized that if the police need to speak with him, he is willing to come when properly invited. “Showing up at my home at night with armed officers and demanding to get in is not right,” he said, adding that he is a peaceful citizen who has never broken the law.
