Maputo, Mozambique – Rev. Dr. Alvin E. Attah and his campaign team have safely arrived in Maputo to participate in the 2026 Global Development Council of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church, marking a significant start to the new year on the international faith stage.
The high-level gathering brings together church leaders and development stakeholders to shape the direction of the AME Church’s global mission. For Rev. Attah and his delegation, the moment represents more than attendance—it signals renewed commitment, spiritual focus, and forward-looking leadership as 2026 begins.
Describing the year as one of new beginnings, members of the delegation emphasized the importance of maintaining perspective and faith. While every day may not be perfect, they noted, there is always something meaningful to be found in each day—an outlook that anchors both personal growth and collective mission.
During engagements surrounding the summit, Rev. Betty Schroder, a clergy leader from Namibia, encouraged her team to approach the new year with intentional gratitude. She stressed that gratitude is not dependent on perfect circumstances but is a discipline that sharpens spiritual awareness and helps believers recognize God’s presence even in subtle moments.
As deliberations commence in Maputo, expectations are high that 2026 will be defined by courage, clarity of vision, and deeper engagement with faith-based development initiatives. For Rev. Dr. Attah and his team, the year begins not only with safe arrival, but with strengthened resolve and hopeful anticipation for what lies ahead.
