In a spirited observance of Cybersecurity Month, the Liberia Girl Guides Association (LGGA) today paid a vibrant visit to the headquarters of the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA), blending awareness with creativity by distributing cookies and brownies embedded with cybersecurity tips.
The event opened with a dramatic skit performed by LGGA members, depicting a cyber scam and its consequences. The performance set the tone for the day’s activities, highlighting the importance of digital vigilance and sparking conversation around online safety.
The initiative forms part of LTA’s annual Cybersecurity Month commemoration, organized under the auspices of the Department on International Gateway Services and Internet Governance, led by Commissioner Angela Cassell-Bush.
The month-long observance features a range of activities designed to promote Digital Safety and responsible online behavior across sectors.
Following the skit, the LGGA team toured every Department and Section of the LTA, engaging staff with practical cybersecurity messages and interactive exchanges. Their outreach included the distribution of cookies and brownies, each bearing a unique cybersecurity tip.
LTA Chairman Clarence K. Massaquoi welcomed the team warmly and commended their innovative approach to public education. He pledged the Authority’s continued support to the LGGA, emphasizing the need for sustained collaboration in building a cyber-aware society.
The LGGA’s visit marks a dynamic fusion of youth-led advocacy and institutional commitment, reinforcing Liberia’s growing efforts to strengthen Cybersecurity Culture nationwide.
