Jenewonde Town, Tewor District, Grand Cape Mount County – August 25, 2025
Senator Dabah M. Varpilah of Grand Cape Mount County has started construction on a modern guest house worth $28,000 in Jenewonde Town, Tewor District. The guest house honors the late Senator Edward Boakai Dagoseh.
Seimavula Construction Company will build the facility, which will serve as a hospitality center and a lasting tribute to Senator Dagoseh’s service and contributions to the community.
At the ceremony, Senator Varpilah expressed her commitment to continuing the work of those who came before her. “We are focused on strengthening Grand Cape Mount through projects that bring real benefits to our people,” she said.
Local residents welcomed the project, seeing it as both a boost to the economy and a meaningful way to remember Senator Dagoseh. Community elder Ansu Kawah said, “We are proud that our leaders are honoring Senator Dagoseh in a way that helps the community.”
The groundbreaking took place during Senator Varpilah’s second Constituency Engagement visit to the county, which also included inspections of ongoing projects. She visited the Cape Mount Teachers Association Headquarters in Sinje and several projects in Porkpa District, including the $45,000 Damballa City Hall, now 60% complete; the $3,000 Bust Convert Bridge, nearly finished at 99%; and the $40,000 Baakah Bridge between Gbanga and Baaka, also 99% complete.
These projects, worth a total of $78,000, are being carried out by local companies, with Beacom Engineering and Development Company leading work on the bridges and city hall.
Senator Varpilah said these projects show her commitment to bringing development to Grand Cape Mount County and improving the lives of its people.
