I Endorse the July 17 “We the People” Protest and Call on All Liberians to Rise for Justice, Fairness, and Accountability
Monrovia, July 16, 2025
My fellow Liberians,
At a time when our country stands at a critical crossroads, I can no longer remain silent. I speak not just as a lawmaker, but as a Liberian, a son of this soil, and a servant of the people who entrusted me with their hopes and their voices.
Today, I proudly declare my full endorsement of the July 17 protest, known across the country as the “We the People Protest.” Enough is Enough!
For us this is more than politics, this is principle. This is not noise, this is the voice of a wounded nation crying out for healing. As your Representative from District #9, Montserrado County, I believe it is both my moral and constitutional duty to stand with you, shoulder to shoulder, as we rise together to demand justice, fairness, equality, and accountability.
I am standing with the people. I am standing for the truth. I am standing for a Liberia where leaders are held accountable, where public resources serve the people, and where no child has to go to bed hungry while corruption goes unchecked.
We cannot continue to watch in silence as the hopes of our people are buried under economic hardship, political manipulation, and abuse of power like the recent interference with the Legislature. We cannot remain quiet while police brutality robs families of their loved ones, while public servants are dismissed for political convenience, and while our nation drifts farther away from the promise of genuine democracy.
Tomorrow, our voices must echo from the shoulders of the Executive Mansion to the steps of the Capitol. And I will be there not only to join you but to ensure that your petition is received and treated with the seriousness it deserves. I will stand with you as your representative, and I will carry your voices into the halls of power with conviction and pride.
Later today, I will address my constituents and the broader Liberian public in an official message. But I want the country to hear me now: I support the protest. I support the people. And I will walk with them tomorrow and beyond.
To the market women, the students, the motorcyclists, the healthcare workers, the unemployed, the professionals, and every Liberian who has been made to feel voiceless I say, rise peacefully, but boldly. Your voice matters. Your pain is real. And your future is worth fighting for.
We will ensure that this engagement will remain peaceful, law abiding and professional, any form of violence will be condemned and look forward to a fruitful engagement that will get the Liberian people heard by their leaders.
Together, let us reclaim Liberia. Let us build a nation rooted in dignity, integrity, and justice for all.
