Grand Gedeh County – Former Finance Assistant Minister Benedict Kolubah has accused the Boakai administration of taking credit for road projects he says were started under former President George M. Weah.
Speaking at the Jefferson T. Koijee Intellectual Forum, Kolubah said several road works now being highlighted by the current government were planned, launched, or set in motion during the CDC era.
He urged residents of Grand Gedeh and Liberians more broadly to look closely at the history of the projects being presented as new achievements. In his view, the Weah administration showed stronger commitment to road construction, especially in southeastern Liberia.
Kolubah argued that the Unity Party government is gaining political mileage from projects that began before it took office, while failing to properly recognize the earlier administration’s role.
The Boakai administration, however, maintains that it is continuing and expanding national infrastructure development as part of its own agenda.
Kolubah’s claims have not been independently verified. A full assessment of which road projects were initiated, funded, or substantially carried out under the Weah and Boakai administrations would require review of official records and project documents.
