Alexander B. Cummings is representing Liberia at one of Africa’s largest economic and investment gatherings, placing the country within ongoing continental discussions about trade, governance, and economic transformation.
The Alternative National Congress (ANC) political leader is participating in the 2026 Africa CEO Forum in Kigali, a major annual summit that convenes heads of state, business executives, investors, and policymakers from across the continent and beyond.
This year’s forum, held under the theme “Scale or Fail: Why Africa Must Embrace Shared Ownership,” is focused on strategies for accelerating investment, expanding regional cooperation, and promoting inclusive economic growth in Africa.
Cummings joined a lineup of influential African figures, including Paul Kagame, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and billionaire industrialist Aliko Dangote, in conversations centered on the continent’s economic future and the role of private-sector leadership in development.
Observers say Cummings’ participation reflects Liberia’s growing interest in attracting international investment and strengthening its presence in regional economic discussions. With decades of corporate experience, including senior leadership roles at The Coca-Cola Company, Cummings has frequently advocated for stronger governance, economic accountability, and policies aimed at creating opportunities for sustainable growth.
Speaking during the forum, Cummings stressed the importance of ensuring Liberia remains engaged in major continental platforms where investment decisions and development partnerships are increasingly shaped.
Beyond politics, Cummings is widely known for his business and philanthropic work through the Cummings Africa Foundation and Cummings Investment Holdings Ltd., institutions focused on economic empowerment and social development initiatives.
The Africa CEO Forum is regarded as one of the continent’s premier business events, bringing together thousands of participants from both the public and private sectors to explore solutions to Africa’s economic challenges and opportunities.
Analysts note that participation by Liberian figures at such international forums may help improve visibility for the country’s investment potential as governments across Africa compete to attract capital, infrastructure partnerships, and business expansion.
