Moses Gray Fires Back at Deputy Minister Sando Following Public Criticism

Monrovia — August 2025 — A heated exchange has broken out between former Montserrado County District #8 Representative Moses Acarous Gray and Deputy Minister for Public Affairs at the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Daniel Sando.

Gray responded sharply after Sando publicly criticized him, boasting about his own wealth while questioning the Deputy Minister’s credibility.

In a strong statement, Gray said his assets surpass those of many government officials. “Daniel Sando, one of my cars alone could cover your entire salary for four years,” Gray said. “Your yearly pay comes from my small pocket, but we don’t flaunt our investments in this country.”

He challenged authorities to verify his taxable assets through the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA), claiming his declared property value is “double that of the President’s assets.”

Gray also launched personal attacks, accusing Sando of reckless behavior. “Stop begging for Guinness and getting drunk on the pavements,” he said, remarks many saw as a direct insult.

To defend his reputation, Gray mentioned senior officials like the Vice President and the Speaker of the House as people who could vouch for him. He told Sando to keep quiet, saying “he doesn’t know what he is doing.”

The exchange has drawn attention on social media, with Liberians divided over Gray’s tone and words. Some criticized the personal insults as unprofessional, while others said Sando’s comments provoked Gray’s strong response.

As of now, Deputy Minister Sando has not responded publicly.

This feud highlights growing political tensions in Monrovia amid ongoing debates about governance, accountability, and personal integrity.
