The Old Students Association of Victory College, Ikare-Akoko, Ondo State, has conferred a Meritorious Award on the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Professor Adenike Temidayo Oladiji, FAS, in recognition of her outstanding achievements and enduring connection to her alma mater.
Fondly titled “Daughter of Victory College, Ikare-Akoko,” the award carries sentimental weight for Professor Oladiji, who was born and raised in the historic town of Ikare-Akoko. The celebration marked a symbolic homecoming — a recognition of not just her professional excellence but also the foundational values nurtured during her formative years at Victory College.
Leading the delegation, Professor Michael Faborode, former Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, highlighted Oladiji’s visionary leadership and impact on higher education in Nigeria. “Professor Oladiji’s tenure has been defined by innovation, inclusivity, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Her commitment continues to inspire future generations,” he remarked.
In a heartfelt response, Professor Oladiji expressed profound appreciation to the Association and mentors who guided her journey. She acknowledged their influence on her values and career philosophy, reaffirming her dedication to service and the excellence that Victory College instilled in her.
