BEHWAN CITY, GRAND KRU COUNTY – August 10, 2025 – The Fredrick Adolphus Price United Methodist Church (UMC) Youth Fellowship held its Local Youth Day on Sunday, featuring uplifting worship, inspiring messages, and heartfelt recognition of outstanding service within the church community.
The highlight of the day was honoring Sis. Beatrice B. Doe, who was named Youth of the Conference Year 2025/2026. This award, given during the worship service, celebrated her dedication, strong Christian character, and meaningful contributions to both the church and the wider community. Church leaders and fellow youth praised her commitment as an example for others to follow.
In his keynote sermon, Bro. William T. Tiakah III spoke passionately on the theme, “Be Consistent and Stop Fighting,” based on Psalm 46:1–11. He encouraged the youth to stay strong in their faith, focus on unity, and avoid unnecessary conflicts that can distract from God’s work.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble,” Tiakah reminded everyone, urging young people to trust God’s promises and live lives of peace, service, and integrity. His message was warmly received, with many “amens” and applause from the congregation.
The celebration brought together church members, youth leaders from nearby communities, and guests in a lively atmosphere of praise and thanksgiving. Joyful singing, traditional hymns, and spirited performances by the youth choir added to the sense of reverence and joy.
Youth Fellowship leaders used the event to reaffirm their mission of helping young people grow spiritually, serve faithfully, and lead responsibly in both church and society. They emphasized the importance of empowering youth to be active contributors now, not just future leaders.
Speaking for the youth, a representative thanked the Fredrick Adolphus Price UMC leadership for their ongoing support of programs that nurture young people’s talents, faith, and character. “Events like Local Youth Day remind us to be consistent in faith and committed to God’s work,” the spokesperson said.
Sis. Beatrice B. Doe, clearly moved by the honor, expressed her gratitude and promised to continue serving with humility and dedication. “This award is not just for me; it’s a call to do even more,” she said, thanking her peers and church leaders for their support.
As the program ended, attendees shared meals, informal conversations, and moments of prayer, strengthening the bonds of friendship and faith within the congregation.
The Fredrick Adolphus Price UMC Youth Fellowship has long been a vibrant part of the church, encouraging leadership, spiritual growth, and community involvement among its members. Sunday’s celebration showed once again their commitment to raising a generation grounded in faith, service, and unity.
