Weah Congratulates Guinea’s New President Doumbouya, Calls for Regional Stability and Stronger Cooperation

Former Liberian President, H.E. George Manneh Weah, Sr., has extended warm congratulations to H.E. Mamady Doumbouya following his inauguration as the fifth President of the Republic of Guinea.

In a congratulatory message dated January 19, 2026, Mr. Weah praised President Doumbouya’s successful election victory in the December 2025 polls, describing the outcome as a significant milestone for Guinea’s democratic journey.

The former Liberian leader also commended the people of Guinea for their peaceful participation in the elections, noting that their conduct reflected a strong collective commitment to national unity, stability, and a prosperous future.

Mr. Weah expressed optimism that President Doumbouya’s leadership would contribute to greater political stability across the region, particularly within the Mano River Basin.
