Monrovia, Liberia – Montserrado County District #17 Representative, Bernard Blue Benson, has announced a L$30,000 reward for anyone providing information leading to the arrest and prosecution of a kehkeh (tricycle) rider accused of assaulting a police officer in Paynesville.
Rep. Benson strongly condemned the act, describing it as “barbaric and uncivilized.” He reaffirmed his support for law enforcement, stressing that attacks on police officers undermine peace and stability.
“Our police officers are here to protect and serve. Any attack on them is an attack on our peace and security,” the lawmaker said.
According to Benson, the reward initiative is designed to encourage residents to cooperate with security authorities by sharing credible information that could lead to justice. He emphasized that community collaboration is essential to upholding the rule of law and maintaining order.
The District #17 lawmaker noted that his intervention reflects a broader commitment to justice, accountability, and the safety of public servants, particularly officers of the Liberia National Police.
“We must stand together to ensure that acts of violence against our officers do not go unpunished,” Benson added. The public appeal, he said, is part of ongoing efforts to build a society that is safe, respectful, and law-abiding in Montserrado County and across Liberia.
