Paynesville, Monrovia – August 7, 2025 – The Liberia Local Base Amputee Football Team made a special appearance at Voke Mission Field as honored guests during the final match of the 1st Annual District #5 Tournament. The event, organized by Hon. Prescilla Cooper, Representative of Montserrado County District #5, was a lively celebration of community sports and unity.
Before the tournament final, the amputee team played an exhibition match, bringing inspiration and energy to the event. The tournament saw strong competition among local communities, with Outland Community winning against Pago Island in the football final, and Bassa Town Community taking the championship in the kickball category.
Hon. Cooper thanked all the teams, referees, coaches, and the amputee footballers, highlighting that the tournament aimed to promote sports development and build stronger community ties through teamwork and inclusion.
