MONROVIA – The leadership of the House of Representatives, headed by Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon, has expanded its staff transportation fleet with the purchase of two additional buses, bringing the total to four. The move aims to ease commuting challenges for legislative staff and enhance workplace efficiency.
The newly acquired vehicles will transport employees to and from work, complementing two buses previously procured under Speaker Koon’s leadership. The acquisition also includes a sport utility vehicle (SUV), which will be assigned to one of the institution’s directors.
Speaking during the official handover at the Capitol Building, Speaker Koon reiterated that staff welfare remains a top priority for the House leadership.
“Staffers in the Legislature are critical to the smooth functioning of our democracy,” Koon said. “They deserve decency and support in their work environment, because when their needs are met, the work of the nation moves more smoothly and efficiently.”
The arrival of the buses was met with jubilation in the Capitol Building courtyard, where staffers expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing the Speaker as “a man of his word.” Many noted that the initiative would significantly reduce their daily transportation difficulties.
The purchase aligns with the House leadership’s broader vision of improving working conditions, increasing staff productivity, and ensuring that the First Branch of Government operates with efficiency and logistical support.
