July 11, 2025 Voinjama, Lofa County – The Female Journalists Association of Liberia (FeJAL), with funding from the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) and in partnership with PERT Consultancy Inc., will today commence a two-day Training of Trainers (TOT) from July 11–12, 2025, followed by a one-day National Stakeholders Consultation and official launch on July 13, 2025, in Voinjama, Lofa County. These activities are part of FeJAL’s nationwide Financial Education and Literacy Program.
The initiative aims to strengthen financial inclusion by equipping individuals and communities with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed financial choices. The Lofa County phase brings together key representatives from market associations, rural savings groups (VSLA), youth networks, persons with disabilities, motorcycle and transport unions, and the local media.
The TOT prepares participants to return to their respective communities and lead peer-to-peer financial education outreach. Immediately following the training, FeJAL will host a National Stakeholders Consultation and official launch on July 13 2025 at the Voinjama City Hall, where local leaders, institutions, and trained facilitators will officially launch the program in Lofa.
This financial literacy campaign aligns with the National Financial Education Strategy for Liberia and addresses key findings from the 2013 Financial Inclusion Survey. The nationwide initiative also benefits from technical assistance provided by the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Office of Technical Assistance.
