Bea Mountain Celebrates Liberia’s 178th Independence Day in Grand Style at Tahn

Tahn, Gola Konneh District – Bea Mountain Mining Corporation (BMMC) on Saturday, July 26, 2025, hosted a colorful and well-attended celebration in commemoration of Liberia’s 178th Independence Day at the administrative seat of Gola Konneh District, Tahn Town.

The official orator of the celebration, Bomi County Superintendent Madam Miatta Dorley, delivered a powerful keynote address centered on the theme of unity, emphasizing the importance of collective progress, peaceful coexistence, and collaboration for national and local development.

As part of the occasion, Bea Mountain Mining Corporation recognized and presented certificates of appreciation to individuals and institutions that have meaningfully contributed to the growth and success of the company and the development of Grand Cape Mount County.

The ceremony brought together top officials of BMMC, county and district authorities, community leaders, and residents from across the district.

Adding excitement to the program was the trophy and award presentation to the champions of the just-ended BMMC No-Loser Mini-Tournament. The sporting event, which was held at the Ladama Sports Pitch on July 24–25, featured teams from four key project-affected communities: Kinjor, Weajue, Gold Camp, and Matambo.

In the final showdown, Gold Camp emerged as champions in the Football category, while Weajue secured the Kickball title. Both teams were celebrated and awarded trophies as part of Bea Mountain’s commitment to fostering unity and development through sports.

The 2025 Independence Day celebration at Tahn is being hailed as one of the most inclusive and community-focused events in recent times, reflecting BMMC’s continued investment in community relations and national pride.
